I apologize if my "topic title" was misleading.  What I'm wondering is: can I install Windows 10 on a SSD and install that SSD into a different machine?  I would like to install it here at my home and get it all updated, then install it on a separate PC at a different location?

Thank you,

Scott

I don't know for sure at this point?  Maybe both HPs both came preinstalled with Windows 10, both Intel CPUs.

You need to view their spec sheets side by side

Okay, I guess I'll just install on premise, but thanks for the replies!

I've done this on several occasions if my clients insist on it.  Windows is

fairly forgiving on hardware changes though you have to add a new product

key if it is not embedded in BIOS.

With that said, 100% of the time, my clients have called after several months

because the PC was freezing/crashing and a fresh install of Windows fixes

the issues

Good luck.

This. I completely concur with this. It's not worth the "time" that you save, because it ends up coming back to bite you.

- Use this to collect and post information about your PC hardware, software and configuration (Whether or not you have crashing).
