I just downloaded iTunes l2.9.4.102.  It installed in Program Files of Explorer.  Then I connected an iPod 5th gen. to my PC.  The msg. in the attachments, and Windows? said it was not properly recognized/identified.

I disconnected it and then connected it again.  The same msg. popped up.  After clicking on the appropriate links provided in Google search results, all I found that was relevant said that the iPod icon would or could appear in the upper top left of the iTunes interface (what I call the interface -- the program on my computer).

If someone has any suggestion for "hooking up" my iPod 5th gen., I would appreciate reading hearing about it.
