Hello.

This computer is HP 8000 elite SFF running W10.

The following is what appeared on the screen after it automatically ran through a CHKDSK.

Application Error: 'The instruction at 0x00007FF87BC555A3 referenced memory at 0x0000000000000000. The memory could not be read; Click on OK to terminate the program'.

Although it said, 'Click to terminate the program', I had to turn it off manually.

I re-started the computer with Shift Key & Start button. Used the keys and got to Troubleshoot.

A message said, to change the Keyboard language (from US) to UK.

I attached a different Keyboard, (UK) but there is a slight change in the Application Error, it is now showing > 0x00007FFA78A055A3 referenced memory at 0x0000000000000000.

I have two important documents to retrieve. What procedure will get me out of this, please?

Thank you.

Hi, Welcome to BC.

Unclear of what is going on.   Is it in a loop with Chkdsk or a boot loop to Recovery Console.  Too many reasons as to why the error occurs.

Try booting your HP to Safe Mode to get your documents off. : https://support.hp.com/lt-en/document/ish_5000477-5000532-16  or if know location and file name get it trough Dos Command Prompt from Recovery Console.

Thank you for your response.

As stated in my post, although the ‘Error Application says, 'Click to terminate the program', I have to turn the computer off, manually. That leaves the screen blank. It seems to me that, that is why part of the Error Application changes when I turn the computer on each time.

Therefore, I cannot use the links you suggest because I cannot, ‘Click to terminate the program’ ,  and so leave the Desktop running.

I will have to apply a different method by use of ‘F’ keys.

Thank you.
