Good day! This is my first post.

What are my options if I need to provide more than 500 IP address to users in a school? As of now our modem is the DHCP Server but I am sure we will exceed its limit soon. We have different buildings connected to one network. We are using Unifi devices as Access Points but I have problem managing those devices since the credential for the Unifi Controller has not been turned-over by the previous Administrator of the network.

As we have 2 ISP I am thinking of using this TL-R470T+ but I am unsure if it can provide the IP addresses we need. I could set its subnet mask to 255.255.254.0 to provide more IP address but it has an IP Start and End range, it will only allow me to input within the range of the 3rd octet. If I change the 3rd octet in the End IP then it will not accept it.

Your recommendations would be most welcome.

Hello and welcome to BC, @dee-u:

It looks as if you are already being helped in another forum for this same issue?

This should be more than enough once you set the subnetmask to /23(255.255.254.0)

What address range are you trying to put for the dhcp scope?
