I received an email and looked up the associated IP address. Unless I'm reading it wrong (that is very possible) it came from an individual Gmail address but the originator is listed on Whois as being Google. But it is from an individual and that has me baffled. If I post the IP address, can someone verify where it came from. It showed up in my Spam folder at the same time that an alert from my bank was received, and it was regarding thwe reciept of a payment. I need to trck this down if I can. I stopped payment and blocked the sender at my bank.

Can you post the content of the email that was in the spam folder? If it contains any personal info such as your

name simply replace with Xes. Also post the title of the email.

What was the name of the business that attempted to charge your CC or bank account in some way?

Was the spam email sent from a Google email account?

Messages sent via the Gmail mail servers don't include the sender's IP address.
