Some people say that they are very secure but i don't understand why windows phone doesnt have a antivirus ... and a lot of the app in the store are so fake and seems to be risky.

any type of phone will have some kind of security problem or issue. It just how it is. It all depends - do you like window phones, can you use one, are you ok with the apps it has.

I had a windows phone for a while but got rid of it due to lack of apps I needed compared to iphone/android.

Based on most reviews and articles that I came across online, Windows phone is next to ios with regards to application security and quality control. Windows Phone also allows the control of apps installations.

As a side note, it appears that the Windows Phone is going to disappear from the market anyway.

Most virus/malware/spyware written, whether for amusement purposes (for the writers) or financial gain, takes into account having a target rich environment.  Windows on phones never took off and the environment is, thus, not target rich.

There is no OS that cannot be compromised by someone determined to do so who has the skill set necessary to do so.  Whether it's worth the effort, in their estimation, is a far greater predictor of whether there will be attacks on said systems.

Any phone is safe unless you f**k around using it. As long as you do safe browsing and trusted resource only usage of it they are fine. If you use it for porn, use illegal software, and all such things then only the issue occurs.

As of now windows phones are being with drawn (at least from my country India reason why I had to take an iPhone).

The phones are safe and robust. Partially due to less demand in comparison to other platforms.

The phone does not allow you to install 3rd party apps so rest assured the phone is safe unless there is some bad usage of the phone.
