Google 48 is here and includes 37 security fixes and bunch of new features. These features include the custom notification buttons, the deprecation of the RC4 encryption protocol, and the ability to present to Google cast devices.
Google has released version 47.0.2526.106 of Google Chrome today to resolve two Google discovered security vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities are identified as CVE-2015-6792 and these private security issues from internal audits and fuzzing and are mentioned in issue 569486.
Google has updated their Safe Browsing feature to warn visitors of sites that are considered deceptive. Google categorizes deceptive sites as ones that pretend to act, or try to look and feel, like a trusted company or ones that try to trick you into doing something like calling for tech support or installing software.
The New York Times has partnered with Google to offer all of their home delivery subscribers a free Google Cardboard Viewer. This viewer along with The New York Time VR app allows you to enter an immersive 360-degreee virtual reality experience of their featured stories.
YouTube has announced a new monthly subscription service called YouTube Red that offers ad-free videos, YouTube only shows, offline saving, and background play. Starting on October 28th, U.S. visitors will be able to sign up for this new $9.99 monthly subscription that comes with a one month trial.
