Were they working prior to this update?

If so then revert back to an older driver.

I have no idea when this happened, what driver would be the culprit, or how to get the old driver if I did know which one was the problem.

Go to the Dell site.

When you get to the driver section.

At the far right there is a triangle click that

Then select older version.

Not making guarantee that it will correct the issue and or not.

Rusty,

Thanks, but.  On the Dell site I've got the Killer-PCIe-Ethernet-Controller-Driver as in your screen shot above.  The new driver is version 33.22.1182, A50 with a date of 10 Jan 2023, and there is the option of older drivers.  I have downloaded that and "updated" my driver as far as I could tell.  However, if I go to device manager and check network adapters, then right click on the Killer E2400 Gigabit Ethernet Controller, then properties, and then check the driver tab, it says my driver version is 9.0.0.50 dated 1/14/2020.  If I click on update driver, and do the automatic check, I am told I have the most up to date driver.  So, basically, I have no idea how my PC and devices and drivers relate to the Dell driver page.

Post a screen shot of this screen of the Dell site showing the driver.

Rusty,

The screen shot you posted is the same thing I see on the Dell site.

Maybe this could be the culprit?

Toofarnorth,

Changing bandwidth in Killer made no difference.  That link you provided mentions if it doesn't work, try a clean install, but the indicated download doesn't apply to my Killer E2400 version and I am concerned downloading the other version, uninstalling my current version, and then installing the different downloaded version, could result in even more problems.

Literally just fixed this issue on my PC- same network card: it's bad drivers. I was having the same problem with downloads being normal but uploads hovering at 0.3Mbps. I went into the add or remove programs control panel and uninstalled both Killer options that came up: the Suite and the Control center. After, I restarted my PC and whatever default windows drivers/configurations I have are letting it function properly. Just in case it isn't the same for you, go ahead and download a driver installer exe before completely wiping your current drivers.

OK.  I will give that a shot.

Cuon,

Yep, that worked.  I uninstalled the Killer Intelligence Center from the Start/Programs list, and uninstalled the Killer E2400 GB Ethernet Controller from Control Panel-Programs-Programs and Features.  Restarted the PC and Speedtest has me getting my expected 8 ping, 286 download and 10.46 upload.  You having done it and it working gave me greater confidence to uninstall them without causing other problems.  Thanks much.

For those with this issue with the crappy Killer controller software, removing the software may not be enough. As it was in my case, the problem came back in a few days, because there were three networking services associated with it, called Killer-something-or-other, and maybe a Rivet service. You wanna get the full removal tool here:

https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/killer_software_uninstaller.html

And run the first three options: scan, remove, and disable. And if in the future it comes back because of Windows or Dell update, just run it again.

Run the Killer Software Uninstaller tool, then select the option to Remove Killer Software. When it is finished, it will then instruct you that a restart is required. Don’t restart just yet! You will need to click Disable Killer From Windows Update. The application will install a “stub” driver that emulates an updated version of the Killer Control Center, so that any updates pushed by your machine or motherboard manufacturer, through Windows Update, will not install as they will perceive the blocking driver as a later version of the Killer Control Center

Step two: NEVER buy a PC with this crap controller in it!

Thanks for this!! On one of my three affected PCs, I manually uninstalled everything I could locate - services, folders, drivers, registry items - successfully got a generic MS driver, then disabled the Windows update, and that seemed to be working well. This tool is a much easier and safer way to do it. Great find.

"one of my three affected PCs" I think you meant 'infected.'   :bubbles:

Intel acquired Rivet Networks in 2020, and here's more from Intel. Honestly, I can't believe they're still supporting this virus... I mean software.

Are you certain that the profile you're paying for is roughly 287/10?  That seems suspect to me.

Although most connections are asymmetrical in speed (download speed much faster than upload), I've never heard of one that is that asymmetrical.
