Thanks for letting us know your experience. Have you contacted the manufacturer to let them know your findings? That's usually the only way they might patch it, is if enough people complain.

Intel is aware of this problem. Here is the link to what they would want users to perform to fix this.

I will need remove the software since turning off the prioritization engine turns itself back on.

For those with this issue with the crappy Killer controller software, removing the software may not be enough. As it was in my case, the problem came back in a few days, because there were three networking services associated with it, called Killer-something-or-other, and maybe a Rivet service. You wanna get the full removal tool here:

https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/killer_software_uninstaller.html

And run the first three options: scan, remove, and disable. And if in the future it comes back because of Windows or Dell update, just run it again.

Run the Killer Software Uninstaller tool, then select the option to Remove Killer Software. When it is finished, it will then instruct you that a restart is required. Don’t restart just yet! You will need to click Disable Killer From Windows Update. The application will install a “stub” driver that emulates an updated version of the Killer Control Center, so that any updates pushed by your machine or motherboard manufacturer, through Windows Update, will not install as they will perceive the blocking driver as a later version of the Killer Control Center

Step two: NEVER buy a PC with this crap controller in it!

I followed your instructions exactly but when I ran the Killer uninstaller it did not give me an option to click Disable Killer from Windows Update as the L/H side of the uninstaller did not offer a box like it apparently did for you. I'm worried that the next windows update will screw up my download speed...any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I tried following Intel's instructions after having removed all of the Killer software and there was no improvement to my slow upload speed. I then removed everything again, not installing as Intel instructed, and upload speed improved back to normal. Yay! However, yesterday there must have been a windows update and the killer intelligence center was back and slow upload speed issue returned. Did Intel's directions work for you?

Interesting that you've experienced this problem so severely. I have two Killer NICs on my EVGA board, but I haven't run into this problem <fingers crossed>.

I have a DELL 8930 desktop with the Killer E2400 Ethernet controller. I was thinking that perhaps I would just bite the bullet to avoid the Killer nonsense and replace it with a new generic non Killer ethernet card. But is it built into the motherboard and thus a swap out is not an option? (I'm a simple "user" having no shame showing my ignorance).

You do know that you can disable onboard Ethernet in your UEFI/BIOS hardware setup, right? Otherwise, if an Ethernet chip on the motherboard died, you'd have to throw out the entire motherboard. Just disable it and install a new PCIe board.

NachoEater, I did not uninstall anything. I don't feel comfortable doing that so I'm just turning off the priotization in the Killer Intelligence Center everyday. I guess I'm hoping for an update to fix this.

Kabookie2,

As of now, I am just kind of living with what I currently have with the ethernet connection.  It gives me almost 300 mbps on the download, and I don't really notice the upload limit of about 0.65 mbps unless I am uploading a huge file.  If I have to upload something huge, I plane to just switch to wifi and then I get my usual 10-11 mbps upload speed.

Are you aware that upload speed can affect download speed? If error checking needs to occur on downloaded data, such as CRC checksums, the slower upload speed may result in slowed download speed, as the <received okay!> confirmation packets take longer to send and therefore to be received at the other end.

BTW, have you tried Intel's driver packages for the same card(s) to see if that makes any difference?
