Someone told me they are running a modern, open source video game off a computer with no hard drive - only a floppy disk, running simcga2. I'm wondering if this is possible?

They also told me they could not install any additional addon packs than what they have already because of this. They also mentioned something about running from a CD using an exe file, I think that's what they meant. A few months ago they said they were using NetBSD.

The game has a minimum requirement of:

CPU - dual-core processor
GPU - At least 512 MB VRAM
Ram - 1 GB
Disk Space - 700 MB

Any thoughts on this? I think they are full of crap, but I'd like to know for sure.

As i know a floppy disk usually has a very limited storage capacity, typically 1.44 MB for a standard 3.5-inch floppy disk. This would be far from enough to store a modern video game, especially considering the game's minimum requirement of 700 MB of disk space. end requirements compared to what older hardware and systems supported. Even if the game were to run on an older operating system like NetBSD, the lack of resources and modern hardware might make it extremely challenging or impossible to meet the minimum system requirements for the game.

Hello and welcome to BC, @wendajen56:

This thread was abandoned in April 2022.

Unless there is a compelling reason to do so, there's no need to revive such an old thread.

Thank you.
