I'm a retired old fogie, not wealthy, a novice and my wife wants reassurance.

They said Webroot was best on an apple device. They replaced Norton on my wife's machine.

I & my wife look to Bleeping Computer for a 2nd opinion!

Thank you in spades...

Defender Care I'm assuming from google search is a computer tech shop?

Titan Antivirus is a scam spyware and should not be used under any circumstances!

Apple and Windows or just Apple computers?

Why uninstall the Norton - this doesn't make any sense unless they wanted to make an  quick inhouse sale from you.

Suggest not to go back to that shop and instead get good solid free advice from this BC forum and the security software will be free too. No charges or fees or taxes are involved.

chaim1984:

I recommend your remove both products and request a refund.  I think that you and your wife have been scammed.

Here is a link describing Titan Antivirus: https://www.pcrisk.com/removal-guides/7317-titan-antivirus-2013.

Here is another link describing Defender Care: https://www.scamadviser.com/check-website/defendercare.com.

We cannot do malware removal in this Forum. I recommend that you post in the Malware Removal Forum.  The instructions are here: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/34773/preparation-guide-for-use-before-using-malware-removal-tools-and-requesting-help/.

Good luck, and have a great day.

Regards,

Phil
